This was our blessing and groundbreaking ceremony for our new fellowship hall held Sunday January 8, 2017. Sunday school children held their class outside and were joined by our ministers and the entire congregation after a shortened lecture service. The ceremony started with a prayer and Aarati ceremony with kirtan chanting. That was followed by the groundbreaking. Everyone then took up positions around the border of our new building and raised up a long ribbon while chanting OM. That was followed by everyone receiving proshad and a small card to place their own prayers onto that will later become part of the foundation of our new hall.
We had a wonderful Christmas Commemoration service last month with the Sunday School children followed by the children singing in the temple. Our temple Christmas Social continued with several talented members playing Christmas songs and then we sang carols together. The monks were given gifts and we were served a lovely vegetarian lunch afterwards outside in our patio area.
