Ox Yoke Retreat is situated in the scenic high desert in Twentynine Palms, California, approximately 150 miles east of Los Angeles. Paramahansa Yogananda spent much time in the Twentynine Palms desert meditating deeply and working on his writings. Ever thoughtful of others, he envisioned a similar oasis of serenity where devotees could find peace, strength, and spiritual renewal.

Self-Realization Fellowship Retreat - Lake Shrine
We look forward to welcoming retreatants back beginning Thanksgiving weekend, November 23 - 26.
Personal Retreats are offered Thursday-Sunday. Check-in is on Thursday or Friday between 2:00 and 5:30 pm and check-out is on Sunday by 1 pm. Conducted Weekend Retreats, longer stays, and late arrivals are not possible at this time.
The Lake Shrine Retreat is closed for the weeks of Convocation (held each summer in Los Angeles) and Christmas. Reservations for the weeks before and after Convocation are usually limited to just a few days and are reserved for those coming from long distances.

At the Hidden Valley Ashram Center, men who are students of the Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons will find an environment conducive to God-centered living in the tranquil beauty of the ashram and surrounding hills. The Hidden Valley Ashram Center, sequestered among 100 acres of rolling hills and oak forests in north San Diego County, is a perfect environment for spiritual renewal.
